FEATURE FRIDAY MEMBER OF THE WEEK AMY SHERBURNE HEIGEL

I am 41 years old, no children, and I am a widow. I lost my husband Jim to cancer on May 17th, 2008. I quit smoking on July 4th, 2009 and started clean eating in March 2010. I eat pretty clean but continue to struggle with portion sizes especially when I am stressed. I have struggled with weight all my life. I graduated high school weighing 185. I have been working out for over 20 years pretty consistently doing cardio, abs, and weight lifting.
After the death of my husband, I needed something to focus on other than going into a deep depression/over-eating. So I decided to compete in my very first all-natural bodybuilding competition.  I achieved this goal on October 16th, 2010. I placed 2nd out of 5. Then I lost my mother on November 27th, 2011. She was my best friend.  Again I needed something to focus on. I started training for my second all-natural bodybuilding competition. I achieved this goal on May 19th, 2012. I placed 4th out of 7.

My future goals:  To compete again in May 2013, continue to train hard, clean up my eating habits (90% clean eating) and enjoy/appreciate every day of my life.  LIFE IS WAY TO SHORT!
